October 3-7 | Starting at $500Porto & the Douro Valley, Portugal
Porto is arguably one of Europe’s most exciting mid-sized cities today—vibrant, historic, and irresistibly delicious. Together, we’ll dive deep into its rich cultural fabric: exploring the city’s unique mix of architecture, visiting legendary Port wine lodges across the river in Vila Nova de Gaia, and rolling up our sleeves to cook iconic Portuguese dishes with local experts.
From there, we’ll venture upriver to the breathtaking Douro Valley—one of the world’s oldest demarcated wine regions. Picture steep terraced vineyards cascading down to the river, jaw-dropping panoramas at every turn, exceptional wines, and the region’s
soulful, traditional cuisine. It’s every bit as magical as it looks.

Current itinerary
Porto is a feast for the senses – old-world Europe at its finest. Naturally beautiful with steep banks rising from the Douro River. The Atlantic Ocean is a mere mile away. The historical center is compact, we will walk most places. There are so many historical sights to enjoy, the question is how best to spend our limited time. And the food. The Portuguese love to eat. Traditional food, lots of meat, lots of fish, simply prepared using the highest quality ingredients. Coupled with some of the best red wine you may drink this year, plus incredibly unique and great white wines, makes this a trip for the senses without taking into account Port wine. If you don’t drink Port on a regular basis, you will learn a bit and wind up with a Port wine habit after the trip. If you already enjoy Port, prepare yourself for the gift of some highly sought-after colheitas.
